Easy Teriyaki Sauce and Glaze
Ingredients
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 5 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ cup water mixed with 2 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds toasted
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon ginger grated
Instructions
- Mince garlic and grate ginger. Mix water with corn starch in a small bowl, then set aside. Toast sesame seeds (optional).
- In a small sauce pot on high heat, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger,and sesame seeds. Stir. Let sauce hit a boil. Once it's boiling, turn heat down to medium. Add corn starch slurry and whisk the sauce quickly to prevent clumping. The sauce will thicken quickly. Add extra water if it's to thick.
- Once thickened, immediately take sauce off heat and let cool. Store in a glass contained in the fridge for up to a week.
