What's the Best Popsicle Mold to Use?
There's not really a best kind to use, to be honest! I didn't have a real popsicle mold, so I used mini Dixie cups which turned out great. This method is best if you're making popsicles for a large crowd since they're easy to hand out and transport.
If you plan on making popsicles often (for just yourself or your family), I'd recommend investing in one made of metal or silicone. The plastic molds eventually crack from all the freezing and thawing, so it's best to avoid those.
Expert Tips to Make Smoothie Popsicles
- Bang the popsicle mold on the table before putting it in the freezer to get rid of air bubbles
- Make the smoothie a little bit thicker than you would for just drinking, so your popsicles don't melt quickly
- Since the smoothie is so thick, most wooden popsicle sticks will stand up straight on its own

Soft and Creamy Avocado Shake Popsicle
Equipment

Ingredients
- 2 large avocados Peeled, chopped
- 5 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup crushed ice
- ⅓ cup almond milk
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high. Use a rubber spatula to scrape down sides. Add more almond milk if needed.
- Pour smoothie into popsicle mold. Insert popsicle sticks. Let freeze for 3 hours or until hard. To take out the popsicles, let it sit in room temperature for about 5 minutes to let the outside slightly soften, allowing it to easily pop out.
